I am writting this blog with the intention to not only capture my adventures, but also to let you know about what happens to me during the next five months. According to this I will start right away with the events of my first week in Dublin.
Let me just say again how very much I thank my friends and family for the nice farewell we had. Most of all I would like to thank the most wonderfull two grown-up (my cousin Elisabeth and Christoph) and two little (Sophia and David) surprises, who waited for me at the airport! You definitely made my day!!!
After a long awaited reunion and a very warm welcom with/by the two Expat-Austrians saying goodbye started again: Anna's farewell party
The following day the long feared moving day was there. Fortunately my dorm room is not another horrorstory, but actually a quit nice home for the next two months. Not the least thank's to my sister and her decorating skills.
Orientation week at DCU: some speeches, many things that need to be organized, even more welcome-parties and a whole lot of new faces. All in all it was a pretty stressfull week, but thanks to a relaxing selfie-afternoon the homesickness is kept to a minimum. Finally, we high-five each other and Anna and I complete our changing places.
After a citybus-tour and the Orientation-Ball the orientation week ends in a funy trip to Causey-Farm. There we learn how to bake typical Irish soda bread, dance River-dance and gather sheep. Most importantly we are being taught how to wade through/ jump into/ and shovel yourself out of an Irish Bog.
After a very exciting and thrilling All-Ireland Football Final, which we (like the rest of Ireland) went to watch at a local pub, the first week ends. Very much to our (and all of Donegals) disappointment with a 2-9 to 0-12 for Kerry
